Travel Niagara Srigethuk, Oase in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta from Indonesia

Gunung Kidul regency in Yogyakarta increasingly famous for its beaches beautiful new. However, besides the beaches, the region is also endowed with other natural beauty that caves and waterfalls. Srigethuk waterfall is one of the new tourist sites that became a byword for the past year.

When I visited last weekend Srigethuk, my first impression is that there is a resemblance to the Green Canyon in West Java. But, of course, each location has its own uniqueness.

Basically, the core attraction of this Srigethuk are three waterfalls that are in one location. The third waterfall falls in the same rock then together flow in the river Oya. Each of the waterfall comes from three springs, namely Dong Poh, Ngandong, and Bleberan. Besides the three main waterfall, there are several small waterfalls - in the Java language called kriwikan - at that location.

This attraction is still fairly new so the infrastructure is still limited. However, do not worry, basic facilities such as toilets and food stalls are available here. Until now, attractions Srigethuk still managed locally by the village Bleberan.

Although still limited means, the manager has built stone steps from the parking lot to the edge of the river, so tourists do not have to worry when down a cliff. It took about 5-10 minutes to reach the mouth of the river. On arrival at Oya river bank, you will be spoiled with a greenish color blend the river and surrounding vegetation. Coconut trees towering in the wind.

From here you can not directly see the main waterfall, just a small waterfall in the distance. You have to climb a raft to reach the waterfall Srigethuk. Here you have to pay Rp 5,000 per head for a round trip. There are two operating raft in the river, which transport tourists in turn.

It took about 10 minutes to reach the main waterfall. The actual distance is not too far away, but the raft went very slow. From the raft you can immortalize the majority view is dominated by the color green. The closer, waterfalls Srigethuk (also known as Slempret) is getting amazing. Third waterfalls falling from a height of about 25 meters. The three joined together in yellowish rocks underneath.

After coming down from the raft you have to cross the wet rocks for the waterfall approach. Feel the sensation of a shower under Srigethuk! Many travelers use the time to bathe and swim in the river around the waterfall. Green water here is because of the moss, not because of the waste, so it is safe for bathing.

Some parts of the Gunung a barren land so that water from the river and waterfalls Srigethuk Oya is like an oasis in this Bleberan village. Water used for irrigation of agricultural areas locals. Vegetation that is common in the region are maize, teak, and eucalyptus.

When you are satisfied playing in the waterfall, you can ride the raft to go back. When the stomach is wrapped around, there are several food stalls around the stairs leading to the parking lot. Try one of Gunung typical menu, which Tiwul. Tiwul is food made from cassava. In general, sweet Tiwul eaten for snacks.

However, in Gunung as well as some surrounding areas Tiwul is used as a substitute for rice is eaten with side dishes. Enough with Rp 4,000 you are guaranteed full Tiwul eat tempeh berlauk penyet!
Heading into Srigethuk

From Yogyakarta, Srigethuk can be achieved through the streets of Yogyakarta-Wonosari. Before you get in Wonosari, Gunung exactly after the airfield, you have to turn right onto Playen. Until a fork in the market Playen, your back turned right to head towards the village of Bleberan. After that there will be a marker directions to get to Srigethuk.

Signs are available pretty much. The streets of Yogyakarta to the mouth of the Village Bleberan very good, but after it was pretty bad because many parts are not paved. Everyone who visited Srigethuk fee is Rp 2,000 while the car is Rp 3,000. The fee includes the cost of parking, so it's still very cheap!

Srigethuk addition, you can also visit the Cave Design is located in the village. The fees you pay are included both tourist sites so you do not need to pay again. Well, saving travel time to Gunung!
